REV. DR. ERIC GEORGE VICKERS, SR.

The Reverend Dr. Eric George Vickers, Sr. serves with distinction as Senior Pastor of Fairfield Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia. As one of Metro Atlanta’s rising leaders and influential voices, he is highly regarded as a caring shepherd, courageous servant and creative scholar. A lover of laughter and people, Dr. Vickers is affectionately known as “Pastor E” by the members of Fairfield. Since accepting the call to lead the vibrant, 2,000-member church on October 1, 2021, Fairfield has experienced a time of excitement and renewal through preaching and teaching, ministry revitalization, administrative advancements and physical improvements to the 40-acre campus. Fairfield has embraced Pastor Vickers’ vision for the church to become “A Whole People taking the Whole Gospel to the Whole World.”
Leaning into this mantra, Pastor Vickers has led the church and Redan community in the fight against gentrification through civic engagement, community organizing, and voter registration with plans of launching a community and economic development corporation to serve the church and local residents. Through the influence of Pastor Vickers, Fairfield supports impoverished children in Ghana, West Africa with the aim of providing medical, educational, nutritional and spiritual care. In his short time of leadership, Fairfield has grown in worship, discipleship, stewardship, fellowship and membership. As the new pastor, Dr. Vickers initiated a congregational plan to eliminate Fairfield’s mortgage. In under three years, the church has reduced its debt from $4.35M to under $900K with total elimination in full view. Launching out in faith, Pastor Vickers is motivated to lead Fairfield forward as a reverent and relevant ministry for every generation.
For nearly 20 years, Dr. Vickers has proclaimed the name of Jesus Christ throughout the United States and abroad as a sought-after preacher, conference speaker and lecturer. Pastor Vickers was licensed and ordained into ministry by his home church, Trinity Missionary Baptist Church of Pontiac, Michigan.
