Lady Dorise Brooks

Dorise Brooks was born in Chicago, IL to James Jenkins and Louise Jenkins, she is the seventh of 15 children. She completed her primary through college education in Chicago, IL, earning her degree from Sawyer Business College in 1980.

Throughout her life, she has always known her relationship with God was first and foremost; and through her journey with Christ it is her desire to see women young and old hunger and thirst for the things of God as she does.

Her favorite scripture is Hebrews 10: 35-36, Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Lady Brooks believes in the power of prayer, coupled with the Word of God. She believes when you pray something is supposed to happen. Her faith, courage, patience, and long suffering, along with her gentleness and compassion has brought her great joy while working beside her husband in ministry. She is a true proponent of faithfulness pays off.

She has great experience in ministry; serving in multiple areas for over 30 years, in which include: Sunday School teacher, Food Pantry Coordinator, Women’s Ministry Leader, Ministry Coordinator and Marriage Counselor.

Lady Brooks has been married to Pastor Melvin Brooks for over 36 years. Lady Brooks is a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She looks forward to her journey alongside her husband in ministry with Fairfield Baptist Church.
